The Altra Escalante 4 is a zero-drop road running shoe for daily miles, speedwork, gym sessions and walking. Sock-like, light and flexible, it's a modern take on the fan-favourite Escalante 1.5 for runners who like a simple, natural ride.
Who the Escalante 4 is for
For runners who want an easy, connected feel on pavement, paths and neighbourhood loops. An engineered knit upper gives a soft, sock-like, forgiving fit, a knit tongue keeps things comfortable on the move, and an updated footbed brings back a familiar underfoot feel. Altra EGO foam adds responsive cushioning, and less rubber on the outsole makes it lighter and more flexible.
It's true to size in length but lower volume than the Escalante 3, so it suits low to medium-volume feet best. Coming from the Escalante 3? The 4 uses less outsole rubber for a lighter, more flexible ride, plus a knit tongue, updated footbed and lower-volume fit. Want the newest version? The Escalante 5 adds an updated outsole for durability.
