Who the Lone Peak 9 Waterproof Mid is for
For hikers who love the Lone Peak's roomy, natural feel but want protection from wet weather and rough ground. A PFC-free waterproof upper combines a no-sew TPU quarter with recycled polyester mesh, and an overlay cage adds protection on rocky routes without making the boot bulky. Webbing ghillie lacing and a moulded heel collar lock you in, while a refreshed, lighter Altra EGO midsole keeps you comfortable and connected to the ground.
Most hikers find it true to size with no break-in and Altra's roomiest toe box, though the collar can rub the back of the ankle at first. Want a low-cut version? The Lone Peak 9 Waterproof Low shares the same waterproof build. For a GORE-TEX mid, try the Timp 6 MID GTX.
