The Altra Torin 9 GTX is a zero-drop, waterproof road running shoe for wet daily miles, rainy-day runs and all-day walking. Rain, slush and puddles stop being excuses when your daily trainer keeps your feet dry and your stride relaxed.
Who the Torin 9 GTX is for
For runners who want to keep the Torin's level, roomy ride going through the wet months. GORE-TEX Invisible Fit and a stretchy upper give it a comfortable, waterproof fit, and an updated heel shape and elevated tongue make for a soft step-in. Underfoot, dual-density P35X foam is firmer on the outside and softer inside for stable cushioning, and a Vibram XS Run AW rubber outsole adds grip.
We recommend trying a half size up if you're between sizes: it's true to size for most, but a little lower volume than older Torins and the membrane fits snugger. Coming from the Torin 8 GTX? The 9 swaps EGO MAX for the new P35X dual-density foam and gets a grippier Vibram outsole. Don't need waterproofing? The regular Torin 9 has the same platform with a breathable mesh upper.
