The Altra Lone Peak 9+ GTX is a zero-drop, waterproof trail running shoe for technical trails, hiking and wet-weather adventures. When the skies turn moody and the trail turns to soup, this is the Lone Peak that keeps the stoke high.
Who the Lone Peak 9+ GTX is for
For trail runners and hikers who want one shoe for soggy forest paths, rocky ridges and everything in between. A GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper with soft recycled rolled mesh keeps the wet out without bulk, a shorter toe cap protects the forefoot while keeping it flexible, and Vibram Megagrip bites on slick rock, damp roots and packed dirt. The Altra EGO midsole gives a lightly cushioned, ground-connected ride that suits hiking and fast-moving trail days alike.
In our fittings it's true to size with a very roomy toe box, though the membrane makes it fit a touch snugger than the Lone Peak 9+. Mostly running in the dry? The regular Lone Peak 9+ has the same Megagrip outsole and EGO midsole with a breathable ripstop upper. Want a waterproof hiker with ankle coverage? Try the Lone Peak 9 Waterproof Mid.
