The Altra Torin 9 is a zero-drop, cushioned road running shoe for daily miles, long runs and all-day walking. Level, roomy and easy to love, it lets your toes spread out and your stride settle in from the very first kilometre.
Who the Torin 9 is for
For runners who want a natural, level platform without giving up cushioning. The new P35X dual-density foam pairs a softer core with a firmer outer layer, so the ride feels cushioned and energetic but stays stable, and an updated heel shape, elevated tongue and breathable mesh upper give it a soft step-in. Altra says the new Vibram XS Run AW outsole grips better than the Torin 8's rubber, so it's ready for whatever the road throws at you.
It's true to size for most runners, but a little lower volume than older Torins, so try a half size up if you're between sizes. This is the Wide version; it also comes in standard width. Coming from the Torin 8? The 9 swaps EGO MAX foam for P35X and adds a grippier Vibram outsole, with the same zero-drop, roomy-toe feel. If you'd rather have more cushion and a small heel drop, try the Experience Flow 3.
